Gustav Mahler was a czech-austrian compositor and conductor. In his name, the Civil association Mahler 2000 organizes the festival of classical music since 2002.

53th opera festival Smetana's Litomyšl id the second oldest (after Prague Spring) Czech music festival. It is also the biggest Czech open-air classical music festival.
In the birth place of Bedřich Smetana you can enjoy not only great opera performances but also oratorios, cantatas and othe vocal genres. The festival center is located in the beautiful UNESCO Chateaux Litomysl.
